BIRMINGHAM, BURLINGTON, AND AUSTRALIA

We are deep in the developing phases for another year of adventures in the evolution of Bassnectar and the crazy unfolding community of bass culture. Thanks again to each and every one of you who has continued to contribute to this ever growing experiment! We have some New Years photos HERE and a brand new NYE video over HERE. Below we’ve got some SUPPORT announcements for Winter Tour, Bass Center 2/Ambassador Crew AUDITIONS, and MORE DATES. We’re excited to roll out our first announcement of support acts for our Winter Run: Petaluma, Eureka, Eugene, Portland, Seattle These shows will feature the skills of FILASTINE, a global nomad who specializes in combining traditional world music styles with what basically amounts to sonic anarchy. The result is a very percussive, very explosive journey of creativity. Additionally, we are bringing SuperDre on the wild road: constantly dazzling us with her deft hybrid of techno, electro, hip hop, and general bass-ness.

2010 Spring Tour Update from the Road

Great Scott!!!! You know we have been busy when it’s been a month since i wrote anything here. Lot’s has happened since march. The ‘Timestretch EP’ has made the rounds, getting insane response at the shows, with “Bass Head” getting licensed to a new Ministry of Sound compilation before it was released on vinyl. BANG! If you’ve not had a listen – the full EP can now be streamed HERE. The Tour has thus far been one freak-show after another, many times in rapid succession, with oversold theatres spilling out into the streets on a Monday night, to big weekend showdowns like the Fillmore in Detroit with Vadim & Major Lazer, and crushing festival sets like Ultra and Coachella. I have to give mountains of heartfelt thanks to my crew, because this has really been a full on sprint. Elliott has been holding everything together like a juggler at a Circus; with Lia overseeing everything from creative online multimedia to making sure all the fans are loved and sorted out; Trevor controls the insane rig of PK sound we have out with us; and Michael constantly experiementing with new lighting configurations as we prepare for the interactive light/video tests in

Week 2 Video, Crazy Tour

Between the Major Lazer Crew joining up for part of the week, over 2,200 tickets sold in Detroit, allergies, finding a ball of rubberbands and learning how to use them, Elliott being humped by Chris (MLZR Tour Manager), MiMi from MLZR tackling a security guard in Cleveland, a 4 am bedtime, 5 states in 6 days, and the usual madness of living on a bus with 7 boys, this past week was crazy. Now, the boys are off to Coachella and I can take full advantage to catch up on the video end of things. Next week is set to be even more loco, with 7 shows 7 nights in a row in 5 different states. East coast: WE ARE COMING FOR YOU! Hopefully we’ll have the new Bass Head Vinyl next week at the merch booth, but regardless you should come say hi. It gets lonely over there sometimes. Enjoy:

Spring, week 1 (From Lia)

And what a week it’s been. 4 sold out shows in a row, Lorin tackled a girl in a banana suit, gorgeous weather, and lots of bass. Omaha slayed, from looking in on the goodies in the thrift stores downtown with Andy, our bus driver, to a free lunch for hooking up a cafe worker with tickets, and all the way until 3 am when they boys started bringing ladies on the bus and we all had a ball waiting to see what they did next, the first show of the night was a massive success. DJ Vadim met up with us day of show and I loved hearing all of his Bassnectar remixes off of the Timestretch EP played out live. With Vadim in the mix, we have a full house on the bus, 5 boys, the driver, Lorin, and me. The venue in Minneapolis was, in a word, stunning. The bathroom was so done up with live plants in the walls and brick arches and a sweet staircase behind Lorin that allowed me to get a spectacular shot of the crowd raging in rainbow lights (see video.) Milwaukee was in a venue about 110 years old. I got

Lia’s first edition, Spring 2010

Here we are with the first installment of Lia’s ramblings, Spring Tour 2010. The bus departed our Oakland office at around 9 pm last night after months of planning and weeks of the hecticness building to a crescendo. That crescendo for me was, due to a series of delays, having to receive and process all of our tshirts to bring on tour with us. We’ve got 7 bangin’ new designs that you can scope most of at our little shop soon. After I processed those 1,500 shirts in 5 hours (OUCH!), Julia, our faithful bus from the Sustainable Living Roadshow (formerly the bus of Julia Butterfly Hill) arrived and we packed it all in. Tom from SLR is our temporary driver until we hit Colorado to pick up our sound system from PK and our lighting rig from Brown Note. Last night we drove past Reno, reliving our years of middle school angst to the blast from the past that is the four Cranberries albums on my ipod (Tom still belting all the words after a 9 year Cranberries hiatus, and my joining in on the chorus.) We summited Donnor pass in the moonlight, and I wondered why they named
