BASS HEADS: Our first special event of 2017 is upon us – a two-night gathering in Atlantic City! We have gone ALL OUT in preparing a massively special + immersive experience. Here’s what you need to know to get the most out of every moment (: HEALTH + SAFETY Hydration Water makes the world go round! As always, we strongly encourage you to stay hydrated throughout the night – drinking plenty of water gives you energy, keeps your muscles healthy for dancing, and helps to make sure your body is happy all night long. There will be water stations inside the venue, in The Haven, and a mob of Ambassadors hydrating the crowd all night! Ear Safety Be on the lookout for ear plugs to keep your precious ears safe! You can find these at the merch booths, The Haven, or with Ambassadors – shoutout to HeadCount for bringing these through! Do yourself a massive favor and protect those ears so that you can enjoy music for many years to come (: Know Your Limits Music Is The Drug: You will have an amazing time this weekend no matter what, but if you are going to partake in drinking alcohol,
Hey folks! I wanted to share a pretty cool note I got from a person who wants to start going to shows sober: he wrote me seeking help in getting rid of his AC ticket – he was concerned that being in the environment of a show may tempt him to drink or party too hard. Without judgements, I just wanted to share my own perspective that while it’s an amazing feeling to get high off the music (and ‘the vibe’) of a live music experience, it by no means needs to go hand-and-hand with drug abuse, or even with taking drugs or drinking. Again without judgements (many thinkers, artists, humans who I love and admire have experimented with drugs – and many have had positive experiences), I shared that from my own experience I prefer a clear head, a healthy body, and a nervous system with heightened sensitivity – I prefer health over ‘fun’, and while I enjoy the occasional glass of red wine or strong green tea, I never take anything hard. I know a lot of people experiment, and some go way too far (some lack the experience to know how to make the right decision with
And now for something completely different… BASSNECTAR FREESTYLE SESSIONS: COLORADO July 7, 8 & 9 – 2017 You are invited to join us in a new experiment as we flip the script, reach back into the vault, and let the music take control. We are taking over a room in colorado, removing the stage, building a little dj booth for various humans to jam out inside of, while you can get lost in the crowd. close your eyes, put your phone away. stop texting, stop tweeting, stop thinking. don’t take pictures, don’t try and record the moment. don’t sit at home and watch this on youtube, come experience it live, the way dance parties used to feel, the way house parties feel, the way it feels to be out in the middle of nowhere just vibing on good sound. The music can be anything we want it to be, but please don’t come expecting anything: we don’t fux with your expectations, we wanna have F.U.N. – throwback jams into the acid jazz and downtempo trip-hop of the ’90s, old school funk and soul and experimental hip-hop, futuristic bass music, unreleased tracks never played before, and old classics which we haven’t
We have wrapped up another round of Dollar Per Bass Head and here are the results! Acid House Visual Everything Junkies Manila, Philippines Acid House is a team of directors, designers, illustrators, animators and sound-designers based out of Manila who create visual dreamscapes. They work on various concoctions of static and moving imagery, taking it from concept, development to the final renders of the work. When I was working on Unlimited, they sent over various storybooks of concepts – each was a spellbinding world, complete with language/storytelling and deep hidden meaning… their approach is very interactive and we are continuing to work on inventing new dreamscapes for your eyes and mind!
