I’m still in awe of what we were able to accomplish at Bass Center. So many beautiful pieces working in unison to pull off our largest event ever! And with so many special moments taking place throughout the course of the weekend, this one really stood out to me as a magical highlight: Last Spring I saw this video “Cosmic Eye” by Danail Obreschkow online, as I was searching for a good illustration of “Macro vs Micro”, and as I watched it I immediately thought to myself “I want to sync music to this” and then immediately I started hearing the audio of “Parade Into Centuries” in my mind. It seemed to play perfectly along with the visuals, which is fitting as the theme of that song is about the simultaneous macro/micro universal existence – I wrote it for my parents almost 15 years ago, and it’s an abstract conceptualization of how life moves and evolves through the time, always changing and evolving yet maintaining core attributes while shapeshifting. I was so inspired that I took a friends phone, turned the volume down, and cued up the “Cosmic Eye” video, and then held my phone next to it with “Parade

In keeping with tradition, we will be warming up for our #NYE360 with another annual New Year’s visit to Colorado for the ever-epic Decadence on Dec 30th! I cannot imagine any other way I’d rather spend December 30th, than inside that room with the Colorado Massive, blasting OFFFFFFF 🙂

It’s been more than a minute since I did a Bassnectar Transmission (old school mixtapes are just so fucking F.U.N.) and then I got the call from Insomniac to sit in for Pasquale on his Night Owl Radio show, so he could take a vacation… I put together several exclusive bits, plus a 30 minute continuous mix of customized versions and remixes and mashups, and a ton of unreleased remasters, plus some old tracks from THE VAULT, and most special to me: my very first record I ever bought as a starry-eyed raver the morning after my first rave in the universe – exxxxxxxxtremely roots 🙂 Feel free to have a listening party, share with your friends, please excuse my geeky-AF voice (it was so hard to hear on that mic, and i think i sound like a nimrod, but the show must go on!!!!!) and if nothing else, skip to the end so you can hear that classic cut of vinyl 🙂
