For those of you who are intellectually curious, fascinated by the world, and ready to explore new perspectives, opinions, philosophies, and facts, we present “1000 Books”, a summer reading program and gift exchange. Between now and the election we want to inspire interactive learning through a giving campaign of written words from powerful minds. This is open to anyone; all we ask is that you consider sending us a short write-up of your reflections or ideas on the book we give you. It can be a simple book review, or why you would recommend this book to a friend, or it can be a list of your favorite highlights, or anything. We want to promote learning and critical thinking, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on these three diverse books.

Long story short: With no live events in the foreseeable future, we are going to focus less on music, and more on promoting compassion, mindfulness, antiracism, and social change within our community. With all the gears grinding toward the release of this album, and all streaming services scheduled to release this week – our hearts are instead focused on how we can be interactive with other human beings and give back to the world around us. Long story long: If you’re feeling exhausted by the conflict and racism in this country, we hear you! It’s normal to feel overwhelmed… but there’s a lot more work to be done with regard to confronting racism and uniting against it for racial justice. By feeling empathy for people who have endured unimaginable suffering for centuries, we can stand in solidarity and learn more about how to participate in social change, never looking away just because it’s hard to witness. [check out the cartoon by Victor Varnado – it’s perfectly poignant] While it seems just PAINFULLY OBVIOUS, millions of Americans still need to learn that there can be no social justice until all black lives matter – Black lives are as precious and priceless

Our team is sending out love, advocating for unity, and standing in solidarity with all who are a part of the BLM movement. Black Lives Matter! We’re all deeply affected by the current events surrounding racial injustice and police brutality. And while we are upset and disturbed, we are also incredibly inspired to participate and eager to be a part of the solutions. We want to pause another week on anything music related, and continue to focus on engagement, education, and activism – and we want to invite you to join us, get involved, and find out how you can participate. Over the next week we will be donating $100,000, split amongst five organizations, which we’ll be spotlighting in the coming week: Black Lives Matter, Color Of Change, Campaign Zero, The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, & Media Justice. Each organization relates to the themes we will explore together over the next week: > Empowerment: Racial Equality + Anti-Racism > Social Justice: Solidarity & Unity > Education: Communication, Information & Truth > Demanding Change: Reform, Policy & Oversight > Activism: Organization, Engagement & Protest Let’s Disrupt The System. The Ambassadors are a group of individuals who have realized their capacity to make a difference in their local communities, the Bassnectar Community, and beyond. The Ambassador Program is not a fan club; this is a place for like-minded individuals to come together and figure out how we can contribute to the vibrant community we are a part of, and how to spread this vibrancy to the world at large. Being an Ambassador means tapping into your most creative, helpful, empathetic, and enthusiastic self. Ambassadors break down barriers between strangers, encourage community interaction, and inspire those around them to look out for one another – at shows/festivals, in everyday life, and in the digital world.
